Baseball Recap: Mt. St. Michael Academy Mountaineers vs. Archbishop Stepinac Crusaders

After flying high against All Hallows last Thursday, Mt. St. Michael Academy came back down to earth. The Mountaineers took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Archbishop Stepinac Crusaders on Wednesday. The Mountaineers haven't had much luck with the Crusaders recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Carter Niles was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season. Vin Paradis was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Mt. St. Michael Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Archbishop Stepinac, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-9.

Looking ahead, Mt. St. Michael Academy will take on Salesian at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Mountaineers are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a three-game losing streak. Archbishop Stepinac does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
