After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Cardinal O'Hara, Archbishop Carroll was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Lansdale Catholic Crusaders 2-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Matt McGaughey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Nick Gilroy, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.

Archbishop Carroll's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-4. As for Lansdale Catholic, their loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4.
