Baseball Game Preview: North Forrest Eagles vs. Richton Rebels

The North Forrest Eagles will square off against the Richton Rebels at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (North Forrest has three straight victories, Richton has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Monday. North Forrest blew past East Marion 11-3.

Tyler Spencer was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. North Forrest is undefeated when Spencer posts two or more runs, but 4-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Hayes, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

North Forrest always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .524. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Richton's offense. They came up short against Taylorsville on Thursday, falling 13-0.

North Forrest's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Richton, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-15.

Everything went North Forrest's way against Richton in their previous matchup back in March, as North Forrest made off with a 10-3 victory. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rebels turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
