Jay Chapman posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Tuesday. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk), good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. Coosa Valley Academy is 2-1 when Chapman allows one or fewer earned runs, but 10-14 otherwise.

Chapman's strong effort led Coosa Valley Academy over Cornerstone Christian and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
