Football Recap: Christian Salazar Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Eastside Early College

Manor New Tech's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They took down the Eastside Early College Panthers 28-14. Manor New Tech hasn't had any issues with Eastside Early College recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Manor New Tech got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Christian Salazar out in front who threw for 275 yards and three TDs while completing 76.9% of his passes. Salazar's passing game has become a key predictor of Manor New Tech's success: the team is 2-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 0-3 otherwise. Jaiden Hargis was Salazar's top target, picking up 63 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Manor New Tech picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-4. As for Eastside Early College, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.

Coming up, Manor New Tech will square off against LBJ Austin at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Eastside Early College, they will host Austin Achieve at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will be up against the Polar Bears' rather soft defense (which has allowed 39.4 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
