Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Piute). They skirted past the El Capitan Eagles 66-63. Given the Thunderbirds' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 93rd in Utah, while the Eagles are ranked 228th in Arizona), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Piute has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points per game. As for El Capitan, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

Piute will square off against Pinnacle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pinnacle is on a three-game streak of home losses, Piute a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change. As for El Capitan, they will welcome Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully El Capitan likes a good challenge.
