Volleyball Recap: Alhambra Extends Home Winning Streak to Six

Alhambra had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They blew past the Ygnacio Valley Wolves 3-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in March.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Alhambra was: they took every set by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-13, 25-15.

Zarven Francisco paced Alhambra's offense, picking up eight kills. Francisco got some help from Miles Texon and his 16 assists. Shawn Keifer controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Alhambra's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-7. As for Ygnacio Valley, they are on a 26-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Alhambra will welcome KIPP King at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Lions will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Ygnacio Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mt. Diablo at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
