Basketball Game Preview: George Washington Patriots vs. Spring Mills Cardinals

Having just played yesterday, the George Washington Patriots will jump right back in to play the Spring Mills Cardinals at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with George Washington sitting on three straight wins and Spring Mills on 11.

George Washington is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 49-47 victory over Morgantown. The game was the first time the Patriots have beaten the Mohigans on their court since May 8, 2021.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Spring Mills). They claimed a resounding 92-51 win over Spring Valley. The Cardinals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 17 contests by 21 points or more this season.

George Washington's victory bumped their record up to 21-4. As for Spring Mills, their win bumped their record up to 23-1.

Everything came up roses for George Washington against Spring Mills in their previous meeting back in February of 2019, as the squad secured an 86-42 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for George Washington since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
