Softball Recap: Ridgewood Comes Up Short

Ridgewood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Claymont Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, with their most recent loss being a 4-2 defeat back in March.

Ridgewood saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Kulbacki, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another was Kaydence Lahna, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.

Ridgewood's loss dropped their record down to 12-8-1. As for Claymont, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season.

Ridgewood didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 defeat against Newark Catholic on the 16th. As for Claymont, they have also already played their next contest, a 5-4 loss against Martins Ferry on the 14th.
