Football Game Preview: Bear Creek Bears vs. Golden Demons + How To Watch

Bear Creek is 1-6 against Golden since October of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Bears will be playing in front of their home fans against the Demons at 7:00 p.m. Bear Creek is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

If Golden heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Bear Creek took over last week. The Bears managed a 28-23 win over Highlands Ranch on Friday. Those 28 points were actually the fewest the Bears have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Riley Wilson produced another solid performance rushing for 104 yards and one TD on only six carries, while also throwing for 232 yards and one touchdown.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Bear Creek proved: they limited Highlands Ranch to a paltry 2.8 yards per carry. While two picked up at least five total tackles, Landon Rasmussen stood above the rest. He made five total tackles and defended two passes. Bear Creek didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 8.8.

Meanwhile, Golden played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Heritage and fell 56-28. The loss was the Demons' first of the season.

Bear Creek will need to focus on slowing down Thatcher Matthews, one of several Golden players who made an impact when they last played. He threw for 175 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 74 yards and one score. Golden's leading receiver Ethan Bonafede was Matthews' top target yet again, picking up 119 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Bear Creek's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Golden, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Friday's contest will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Wilson and Matthews. Wilson just won't slow down this season and has thrown 17 touchdowns while averaging 252.7 passing yards per game. Matthews has been a dominant force too and has thrown 14 touchdowns (and and only 2 pick) while averaging 153.5 passing yards per game.
