Baseball Recap: Central Islip Musketeers vs. Brentwood Indians
Central Islip was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 20th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Brentwood Indians. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Indians this season, with their most recent loss being a 18-2 defeat on Thursday.
David Solomon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits.
At the plate, Central Islip saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Yandy Hernandez, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI. Hernandez also got a hit, marking his first of the season. Another was Joslan Hernandez, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases.
Central Islip's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Brentwood, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-7.
