Baseball Game Preview: Mandeville Skippers vs. Brother Martin Crusaders

The Mandeville Skippers will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Brother Martin Crusaders at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.

On Friday, Mandeville narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Brother Martin 2-1.

Logan McNamara tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Cooper Todd was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (two).

The victory got Mandeville back to even at 1-1. As for Brother Martin, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Mandeville skirted past Brother Martin 2-1 when the teams last played on Friday. Will Mandeville repeat their success, or does Brother Martin have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
