Basketball Recap: Tabernacle Christian Takes a Loss

Tabernacle Christian and Cramerton Christian Academy squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Tabernacle Christian had to settle for second. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 55-54 to the Cramerton Christian Academy Crusaders. The Conquerors' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it six in a row.

Despite the loss, Tabernacle Christian had strong showings from Evan Schatz, who posted 15 points, and Isaac Crouse, who earned 14 points. The dominant performance gave Schatz a new career-high in points. Elijah Taguinod was another key player, putting up eight points.

It was another big night for Brayden Johnson, who went 12-for-18 en route to 29 points for Cramerton Christian Academy. Johnson is becoming a predictor of Cramerton Christian Academy's success: when he posts at least 20 points the team is undefeated (and 10-12 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Carter, who had ten points.

Tabernacle Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Cramerton Christian Academy, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-12.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Tabernacle Christian beat Cramerton Christian Academy by a score of 51-49 on Thursday.
