Baseball Game Preview: Carroll Cougars vs. Taylor Titans

The Carroll Cougars are taking a road trip to face off against the Taylor Titans at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses apiece.

Carroll made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Frontier, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Cougars fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 5-3 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Cougars have suffered against the Falcons since April 6, 2019.

Carroll saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Travis Tinsman, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Taylor came up short against Eastern on Tuesday, falling 11-3.

Keaton Wiley put in work while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

Carroll's record now sits at 1-7. As for Taylor, their record is now 1-8.

Everything went Carroll's way against Taylor when the teams last played back in April of 2025, as Carroll made off with a 17-7 victory. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Titans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
