Volleyball Game Preview: Edison Tigers vs. Sanger West Hornets

Edison is a perfect 3-0 against Sanger West since February of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Tigers will face off against the Hornets at 6:00 p.m. Sanger West took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Edison, who comes in off a win.

Last Tuesday, Edison got the win against Madera by a conclusive 3-0. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Coyotes: they've now won three in a row.

Edison never let Madera on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-14, 30-28, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Sanger West didn't have quite enough to beat Justin Garza on Tuesday and fell 3-2. The Hornets have struggled against the Guardians recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

While Sanger West ultimately came up short, they really made Justin Garza work, particularly in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 29-31, 25-17, 26-24, 20-25, 15-13.

Sanger West's defeat dropped their record down to 20-12. As for Edison, their win bumped their record up to 22-5.

Edison skirted past Sanger West 2-1 in their previous matchup back in March. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hornets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
