Softball Recap: Eastern Victorious

Eastern took a seven-run defeat the last time they faced off against Carroll, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Comets won by a run and slipped past the Cougars 4-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Comets.

The team relied heavily on Emillia Andrews, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times she's played. Mackenzea Causey was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

Eastern's record is now 6-9. As for Carroll, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-3.

Coming up, Eastern will take on Lewis Cass at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The last four games the Kings have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Carroll, they will square off against Tri-County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
