Volleyball Recap: Homestead Takes a Loss

After flying high against Killian on Tuesday, Homestead came back down to earth. The Broncos fell 3-1 to the Coral Gables Cavaliers on Wednesday.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-13, 24-26, 25-21.

Yonel Gonzalez paced Homestead's offense, picking up nine kills. Gonzalez got some help from Karon Williams and his 15 assists.

Among those leading the charge was Mariano Beytia, who had 20 digs and three aces. That's the most aces he has posted since back in March.

Homestead's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Coral Gables, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-8.

Homestead wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Braddock on the 28th. As for Coral Gables, they have also already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Miami on the 29th.
