Langston Hughes owes their defense a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They blew past the East Coweta Indians 20-0. Considering the Panthers have won six games by more than 19 points this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The critical scores for Langston Hughes came from Aubrey Weekes, Zamaria Young, and Nalani Thomas.

One reason for the win was Langston Hughes' imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Armani Harris was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two herself.

The victory (which was Langston Hughes' third in a row) raised their record to 8-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 2.0 points on average over those games. As for East Coweta, they moved to 7-2 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coincidentally, Langston Hughes and East Coweta will both be playing Wheeler the next time they take the field. The Indians will head out to face the Wildcats at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Panthers will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
