Basketball Recap: Carver Skates Past Bethany Community with Ease

Carver won the last time they faced Bethany Community and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Carver Yellowjackets blew past the Bethany Community Wolves, posting an 85-41 win. Given the Yellowjackets' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 292nd, while the Wolves are ranked 607th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Carver found their leader in sophomore Tiquan March, who went 9 of 15 en route to 23 points and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points March has scored all season. Quinton Stone was another key player, putting up ten points along with six assists and five boards.

Carver smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in four consecutive contests.

Carver is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.5 points per game. As for Bethany Community, they dropped their record down to 3-15 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Carver has already played their next game, a 61-36 defeat against Bishop McGuinness on the 17th. As for Bethany Community, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 43-32 loss against Gray Stone Day on the 16th.
