Baseball Recap: Whittier RVT Comes Up Short

Whittier RVT was the 13-3 winner over Greater Lawrence Tech when they last played one another on April 10th, but their luck changed this time around. The Wildcats fell just short of the Reggies by a score of 7-6 on Wednesday.

David Tateosian and Charles Morrison stepped up to the plate in a big way. Tateosian went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI, while Morrison went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Corey Deziel, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Whittier RVT has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Greater Lawrence Tech, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-8-1.

Coming up, Whittier RVT will head out to square off against Winthrop at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Greater Lawrence Tech, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Notre Dame Cristo Rey at 7:00 p.m. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.5 runs per game on average), something the Reggies will no doubt try to take advantage of.
