Basketball Recap: Liberty County Beats Wewahitchka for Their Third Straight Victory

Liberty County won the last time they faced Wewahitchka and things went their way on Monday too. The Liberty County Bulldogs blew past the Wewahitchka Gators 85-65. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 20 points or more this season.

Liberty County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Micheal Glisson, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Gustavo Rubio, who went 9 of 18 on his way to 21 points.

Glisson wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Liberty County was working as a unit and finished the game with 26 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wewahitchka only racked up nine assists.

Despite the loss, Wewahitchka had strong showings from Rhemy Patrick, who went 8 of 17 on his way to 22 points and eight boards, and Kaden Brooks, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 17 points. Patrick is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Bryce Ethridge was another key player, putting up seven points and seven rebounds.

The win (which was Liberty County's third in a row) raised their record to 12-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.7 points per game. As for Wewahitchka, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Liberty County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Sneads at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Liberty County has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 224 points over their last three matches. As for Wewahitchka, they will also get right back to it: they'll square off against Covenant Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wewahitchka is facing Covenant Christian at the right time seeing as Covenant Christian is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
