On Saturday, South Kingstown faced West Warwick in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The South Kingstown Rebels walked away with a 61-54 victory over the West Warwick Wizards. The win was nothing new for the Rebels as they're now sitting on five straight.

South Kingstown got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was James Wilson out in front who posted 16 points along with eight assists and five rebounds. Those eight assists gave Wilson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jordan Chaloux, who put up 17 points and five boards.

Several Wizards players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Owen Stearns, who scored 17 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Stearns' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Gregory Benton was another key player, putting up 14 points along with eight boards and three steals.

South Kingstown's record now sits at 16-4. As for West Warwick, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-5.

South Kingstown didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 80-66 win against Middletown on the 10th. As for West Warwick, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 70-41 victory against Coventry on the 10th.
