Basketball Game Preview: Burrillville Broncos vs. West Warwick Wizards

The Burrillville Broncos will face off against the West Warwick Wizards at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Burrillville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.6 points per game this season.

Burrillville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They secured a 51-47 W over North Providence. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Broncos.

Logan Gelinas was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 20 points and ten boards. That's the most points he has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Dichiaro, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds.

Meanwhile, West Warwick faced Pilgrim in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. West Warwick snuck past Pilgrim with a 54-50 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Wizards, who have now won three matches in a row.

Burrillville better keep an eye on Owen Stearns. He was instrumental in West Warwick's win, on his way to 25 points in addition to six boards and four blocks. Stearns' big performance that evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Jayden Hall, who put up nine points and five rebounds.

West Warwick smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in eight consecutive games.

Burrillville's win bumped their record up to 16-8. As for West Warwick, their victory bumped their record up to 18-5.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Burrillville has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 27.5 boards per game. However, it's not like West Warwick struggles in that department as they've been averaging 34.7 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.

Burrillville might still be hurting after the 87-67 loss they got from West Warwick in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can Burrillville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
