Softball Recap: Bethlehem Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

Bethlehem's rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Bullitt Central Cougars a 20-0 shutout. The Eagles/Banshees might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by ten runs or more this season.

Emmalee Hettinger made a big impact no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Alexis Hume and Paige Miller did most of the damage at the plate: Hume went 4-for-5 with two triples, two stolen bases, and three runs, while Miller scored four runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave Miller a new career-high. Gabby Luckett was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.

Bethlehem kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Bethlehem pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.the team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team won's by an average of 13 runs thus far As for Bullitt Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Coincidentally, Bethlehem and Bullitt Central will both be playing South Central the next time they take the field. Bethlehem will host South Central at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Bullitt Central will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
