Baseball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Firth's 11th in Last 13 Outings

It's playoff time, and Firth had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Challis Vikings on Saturday, sneaking past 10-9. The high-scoring effort was just what the Cougars needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

The team relied heavily on Beau Ringel, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Grant Vasquez also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Firth is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Challis, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-11-1.

As of now, neither Firth nor the Vikings have any future games scheduled.
