Baseball Game Preview: Broome Centurions vs. Woodruff Wolverines

The Broome Centurions are taking a road trip to challenge the Woodruff Wolverines at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.

Broome fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Chesnee on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 7-6.

Dylan Ramirez was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. He also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season.

Meanwhile, Woodruff came tearing into Friday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Predators, sneaking past 6-4. While the Wolverines didn't have the best season last year (they finished 2-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Woodruff's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Broome, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Broome came out on top in a nail-biter against Woodruff in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Broome since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
