Softball Recap: Chowchilla Comes Up Short

Chowchilla entered their game against Hollister on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Tribe came up short against the Haybalers, falling 8-2. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Tribe couldn't push the score so high this time.

Chowchilla saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brianna Guardado, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.

Chowchilla's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Hollister, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chowchilla will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Caruthers at 4:00 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Hollister, they will head out to square off against Monterey at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Haybalers 4, the Dores 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
