Football Recap: Calvert Hall Cardinals vs. McDonogh Eagles        
        
		
             On Friday, Calvert Hall faced McDonogh in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Calvert Hall Cardinals came up short against  the McDonogh Eagles, falling  37-17. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cardinals of the  42-14 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in October of 2023.
  Mekhi Brown threw for 38 yards  on four of seven attempts.  On the ground, 
 John Asuquo rushed for 52 yards and a touchdown.
  Mason Graham had an outrageously good game for McDonogh as he rushed for 81 yards and two touchdowns. Those 81  rushing yards gave  Graham a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Braeden Palazzo, who threw for 188 yards and two touchdowns.
 Calvert Hall's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for McDonogh, their win was  their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 7-1.
 Calvert Hall has already played their next match,  a  38-3  victory against St. Mary's on the 18th. As for McDonogh, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Concordia Prep at 12:00  p.m.  on October 26th. McDonogh is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 27.1  points per game  this season.
