Preview: Brunswick Pirates vs. Effingham County Rebels

The Brunswick Pirates will head out on the road to face off against the Effingham County Rebels at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Brunswick will be strutting in after a victory while Effingham County will be coming in after a defeat.

Brunswick scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 84-61 margin over South Effingham. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Brunswick's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Caleb Butler led the charge by scoring 26 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Butler has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Craig Battle, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Effingham County pushed their score all the way to 55 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 56-55 to Lakeside.

Brunswick has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 12-14 record this season. As for Effingham County, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-11.

Brunswick didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Effingham County when the teams last played last Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 63-58 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Brunswick since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
