Baseball Recap: Temple Christian Takes a Loss

Temple Christian fell victim to Grace Christian and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 2-0. The loss continues a trend for the Crusaders in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost five in a row.

Silas Walker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up 12 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

Temple Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Grace Christian, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1.

Looking ahead, Temple Christian is taking a road trip to take on Regents at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Crusaders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season. As for Grace Christian, they will welcome Roanoke Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in the Warriors' favor as the team sits on eight straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Celtics have been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
