Baseball Recap: Gilbert Comes Up Short

Gilbert lost to Shepaug Valley back in May of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets came up short against the Spartans, falling 13-1.

Gilbert's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Shepaug Valley, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3.

Gilbert will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Nonnewaug at 3:45 p.m. on the 27th. As for Shepaug Valley, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 13-1 victory against Gilbert-Northwestern Regional on the 14th.
