Softball Recap: Assumption's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Assumption). They put the hurt on the Athens Bluejays with a sharp 19-2 win on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Royals, who have now won seven matchups in a row.

Assumption's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-4. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Athens, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Assumption will head out on the road to square off against Stratford at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Athens, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-0 defeat against Mondovi on the 10th.
