Robinson hasn't had much luck against Connally recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Rockets will be playing at home against the Cadets at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Robinson's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last three contests.
On Friday, Robinson didn't have too much trouble with Lorena as they won 46-29.

Robinson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Evan Moreno, who rushed for 278 yards and four TDs while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. That's the most rushing yards Moreno has posted since back in September of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Brice McCurdy, who rushed for 111 yards and one score on only six carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Robinson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 389 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 152 rushing yards in nine consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Robinson's defense and their five sacks. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Aaron Ruiz and Derrick Medlock, who each picked up one sack apiece. Robinson received some extra help from Medlock, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Meanwhile, Connally came up short against China Spring on Friday and fell 28-20. The game marked the Cadets' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Robinson will have to keep a close watch on Caden Coffman and Cj Evans, a pair of players who had a big impact on Connally's prior game. Coffman threw for 225 yards and three touchdowns, while Evans picked up 67 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Evans also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making four total tackles and defending one pass.
Robinson's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.3 points over those games. As for Connally, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
We should be in store for an exciting game as Robinson and Connally have no problem gaining yardage. The Rockets have been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 463.8 total yards per game. However, it's not like Connally struggles in that department as they've been averaging 386.5 total yards. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
Robinson beat Connally 42-29 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Do the Rockets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cadets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
