Volleyball Game Preview: Damien Spartans vs. Upland Highlanders/Scots

Damien is 1-7 against Upland since March of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Spartans will welcome the Highlanders/Scots at 4:45 p.m.

Damien is headed into Monday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Thursday. They came up short against Los Osos, falling 3-0.

While Damien was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Los Osos' winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-17, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Upland earned a 3-1 victory over Etiwanda on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Highlanders/Scots in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won six in a row.

While Upland might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Etiwanda scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-18, 17-25, 25-19.

Damien's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Upland, their victory bumped their record up to 18-4.

Damien might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Upland when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Spartans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
