Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gulliver Prep). They put the hurt on Ransom Everglades with a sharp 12-2 win on Saturday. The high-scoring effort was just what Gulliver Prep needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
Ronin Robles looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.
On the hitting side, Chase Cherne was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Brian Sanchez also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Gulliver Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Gulliver Prep's victory bumped their record up to 4-18. As for Ransom Everglades, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-7.
Coming up, Gulliver Prep is taking a road trip to take on JC Bermudez Doral at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raiders are facing the Thunder at the right time seeing as the Thunder are stuck on a six-game losing streak. Ransom Everglades does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
