Baseball Recap: Watseka's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Watseka couldn't beat Armstrong on Wednesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fourth inning. The Warriors fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 8-7. If the Warriors were looking for revenge after losing 9-2 to the Trojans when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Andrew Shoemaker was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Schaumburg, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Watseka's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-12. As for Armstrong, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Watseka is set to challenge their familiar foe Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Armstrong will take on rival Milford at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
