Basketball Game Preview: Carlisle Wildcats vs. North Polk Comets

Carlisle is 2-8 against North Polk since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

It was a proper cat-fight when Carlisle duked it out withGilbert last Friday. Carlisle fell 69-61 to Gilbert. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 186th, while the Tigers are ranked 36th).

Meanwhile, North Polk lost to Waverly-Shell Rock on the road by a 69-50 margin two weeks ago.

North Polk dropped their record down to 4-4 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Carlisle, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Carlisle came up short against North Polk in their previous meeting back in January, falling 64-53. Can Carlisle avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
