Baseball Recap: Atlantic Comes Up Short

Atlantic fell victim to Father Lopez and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Green Wave. The Sharks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Green Wave earlier this season, when they won 17-0.

Atlantic saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jake Cronin, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

Even though they lost, Atlantic hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Father Lopez struck out nine times.

Atlantic has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-4 record this season. Father Lopez's win ended a nine-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Atlantic will welcome University at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Father Lopez, they will host Deltona at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
