Softball Recap: No Winner in Winthrop's First Contest

Winthrop's season-opener on Thursday wasn't quite what the team was looking for considering the end result. They and the Boston Latin Academy Dragons finished up their contest with a 4-4 draw.

Lucy Boncore spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks.

Boston Latin Academy's tie gives them a new season record of 0-1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Winthrop will square off against Hamilton-Wenham Regional at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Boston Latin Academy, they will take on Martha's Vineyard Regional at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
