Basketball Recap: Hillsboro Takes a Loss

Hillsboro suffered their biggest defeat since January 6, 2024 on Saturday. They lost 63-42 to the Fairland Dragons. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 398th, while the Dragons are ranked 52nd).

Hillsboro's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Fairland, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hillsboro has already played their next match (against Chillicothe), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Fairland will welcome Symmes Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Fairland has won four straight at home, while Symmes Valley won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
