Softball Game Preview: North Eugene Highlanders vs. Ashland Grizzlies

For the second straight game, North Eugene will face off against Ashland. The Highlanders will head out on the road to challenge the Grizzlies at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. North Eugene will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

Having struggled with six defeats in a row, North Eugene turned things around against Ashland on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Grizzlies by a score of 8-5.

Ella Anderson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Kaylani Washburn also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

North Eugene was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in six consecutive matchups.

Ashland's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-8. As for North Eugene, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
