Basketball Recap: Hadassah Dixon's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Wewahitchka over Franklin County

Wewahitchka was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 28-23 heartbreaker at the hands of the Franklin County Seahawks. The matchup marked the Gators' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Several Gators players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hadassah Dixon, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Jayla Clayton, who put up six points.

Wewahitchka's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Franklin County, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Wewahitchka will head out on the road to square off against Vernon at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Franklin County, they will welcome Liberty County at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both have allowed few points on average, (Liberty County: 28, Franklin County: 28.1) so any points scored will be well earned.
