Recap: Roosevelt Roughriders vs. Eastern Ramblers

The Roosevelt Roughriders stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They blew past Eastern 74-42 on the road. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Roosevelt also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.

Roosevelt got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Richard Hall out in front who scored 12 points along with six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kareem Davis, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

When it comes to explaining why Eastern lost, one person who can't be blamed is Isyah Joyner. Despite the final result, he scored 21 points. That was a full 50% of Eastern's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Rashid Faruq was another key contributor, scoring eight points.

Roosevelt is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Eastern, they dropped their record down to 6-7 with that loss, which was their third straight at home.

Roosevelt will head out on the road to challenge the Trainers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in District of Columbia (McKinley Tech is ranked 11th, while the Roughriders are ranked ninth). As for Eastern, they will be playing at home against the Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Woodson is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
