Basketball Recap: Kelliher/Northome Piles Up the Points Against Littlefork-Big Falls

Kelliher/Northome won the last time they faced Littlefork-Big Falls and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Kelliher/Northome Mustangs breezed by the Littlefork-Big Falls Vikings to the tune of 95-39. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matchups by 34 points or more this season.

Kelliher/Northome was led to victory by Kylee Binkley and Kate Thayer. Binkley dropped a triple-double on 23 points, 14 rebounds, and 11 steals, while Thayer dropped a triple-double on 24 points, ten boards, and ten steals. The contest was Thayer's 20th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Allison Lundin, who went 7 for 15 en route to 17 points and five steals.

Kelliher/Northome smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 34 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Kelliher/Northome, bringing their record for this year to 14-3. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.0 points per game. As for Littlefork-Big Falls, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season.

Kelliher/Northome will head out to face off against Lake of the Woods at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Littlefork-Big Falls, they will face off against Deer River at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
