Baseball Game Preview: Edison Chargers vs. Huntington Beach Oilers

Edison hasn't had much luck against Huntington Beach recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Chargers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Oilers at 3:15 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Friday, Edison came up short against Corona del Mar and fell 5-1.

Meanwhile, Huntington Beach faced Newport Harbor in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Oilers took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sailors. That makes it the first time this season the Oilers have let down their home crowd.

Jayton Greer and Trevor Goldenetz did some serious damage despite the final result: Greer went 1-for-3 with one home run, while Goldenetz went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Huntington Beach and nudges their season record down to 19-4. As for Edison, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-11.

Edison might still be hurting after the 16-3 loss they got from Huntington Beach when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Chargers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
