Basketball Preview: Silverado Skyhawks vs. Doral Academy Red Rock Dragons
The Silverado Skyhawks will head out on the road to take on the Doral Academy Red Rock Dragons at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nevada (Silverado is ranked 83rd, while the Dragons are ranked 100th).
Silverado came into Friday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They managed a 42-36 win over Green Valley on Friday.
It was another big night for Kingsley Jones, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Timia Thomas, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Doral Academy Red Rock's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 57-9 loss at the hands of Cimarron-Memorial. Doral Academy Red Rock was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-2.
Silverado's victory bumped their record up to 6-15. As for Doral Academy Red Rock, they dropped their record down to 2-14 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for Silverado against the Dragons when the teams last played back in January as the squad secured a 55-10 victory. With Silverado ahead 35-3 at the half, the match was all but over already.
