Baseball Recap: Wilmington Takes a Loss

Wilmington's last matchup with Shenango could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Friday. The Greyhounds lost 10-1 to the Wildcats. The game marked the Greyhounds' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Wilmington saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brodie Dewberry, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Wilmington is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5. As for Shenango, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wilmington will take on Mercer at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Greyhounds' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. As for Shenango, they will venture away from home to square off against Northgate at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Flames will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
