Baseball Game Preview: Pleasant Valley Vikings vs. Enterprise Hornets

For the second straight game, Pleasant Valley will face off against Enterprise. The Vikings will host the Hornets at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Pleasant Valley's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Enterprise's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Pleasant Valley is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 15-2 margin over Enterprise on Tuesday. Considering the Vikings have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Brayden Borges looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits.

On the hitting side, Lucas Benson was a standout: he scored a run while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brayden Wynkoop, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Pleasant Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Pleasant Valley pushed their record up to 9-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Enterprise, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.
