Softball Game Recap: Manzano Monarchs vs. La Cueva Bears

Monday just wasn't the day for Manzano's offense. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 21-0 to the La Cueva Bears, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 21-0 on Monday.

Manzano has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for La Cueva, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 14-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Manzano will venture away from home to square off against Albuquerque Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for La Cueva, they will head out to challenge Eldorado at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Bears will need to watch out since the Golden Eagles have now posted at least ten runs in their last six matches.
