Softball Recap: Columbia River Drops Highest Score of Season Against Hudson's Bay

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Columbia River). They never let the Hudson's Bay Eagles get on the board and left with a 30-0 win on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Rapids, who have now won three games in a row.

Haylee Delano and Ruby Lew made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Delano pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Lew struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Delano has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, Delano earned three RBI and two runs, while Lew got on base in all six of her plate appearances with five runs, four RBI, and two doubles. The dominant performance also gave Lew a new career-high in hits (four).

In other batting news, Sydney Wilder was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. Ava O'Connor also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Columbia River was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .615. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Columbia River's record now sits at 9-5. As for Hudson's Bay, their loss was their ninth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-15.
